Susan Osmond
I think of my paintings as glimpses-remembered images
held for a while and reinterpreted with color, light and
texture. Often they are bits of dreams, places I have
been and hope to revisit or a feeling that I want to
share. They are inspired by my love of architectural and
structural elements. It is my hope that my images create
a spiritual retreat, and atmosphere both obscure and
familiar, a sense of place. Susan Osmond began her
artistic pursuits as a textle designer before becoming a
printmaker and a painter. After getting a degree in
design from SUNY Buffalo she worked as a free-lance
textile designer for Fisher-Price and developed a line of
hand-printed fabric for clothing. Printing on paper was a
natural transition for her and eventually turned to
painting with oils after many workshops and time at the
Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont. Additional
work can be seen at her studio in Marshfield Vermont. Or
during the summer season at the Blue Heron Gallery in
Wellfleet, MA. All of Susan Osmond’s artwork is original
she does not sell reproductions.
