Joyce Cusimano
I moved to Vermont in 1998 and live in the town of
Plainfield. I have always been involved in the arts as
was most of my family and was encouraged to pursue my
creative spirit. My mother studied oil painting, one of
my sisters studied figure drawing, played the flute, and
was involved with the theatre, my other sister studied
ceramics, photography, and weaving, and my uncle owned an
art gallery in New York City. My interest in throwing and
hand building started in high school, and I continued
with my studies of the arts in college. I have been
throwing pottery consistently for the last five years out
of a studio in Montpelier. I am a member of the Blinking
Light Gallery as well as the bookkeeper and serve on the
gallery’s Board of Directors.
